James commenced practice in 1959 and has 45 years' experience specialising in commercial law, wills and probate. He became a Consultant of the firm in November 2003.
James practised for over 10 years in central New South Wales in a general legal practice, covering Crown land law, country conveyancing, probate law and estate planning. Since returning to Sydney, he
has continued to be involved in probate, wills and estate administration, conveyancing, commercial leasing and Corporations Act advice, particularly in relation to charities and non-profit organisations.
With a continuing interest in corporate governance, especially in relation to independent schools, James has advised on this issue and has delivered papers on the subject at national conferences. He has also lectured and examined graduates at the College of Law in the area of commercial law.
